19 year old Aidan was studying at Newall Green Sixth Form College when he got involved with the Green Academies Project. The college was keen for him to get involved because the project provides work experience in preparation for employment. Every Wednesday he worked with a ranger at National Trust’s Quarry Bank Mill site. He really enjoyed learning about conservation, gardening and wildlife. He even assisted in rescuing a bat that was struggling on a classroom windowsill! He enjoyed his time with the Green Academies Project so much that he started volunteering at weekends too. His work experience has helped him secure an internship at Manchester Airport.
