Our Bright Future was run by a partnership of eight organisations, led by The Wildlife Trusts.
Our partner organisations were the National Youth Agency,  Centre for Sustainable EnergyThe Conservation VolunteersField Studies CouncilYorkshire Dales Millennium TrustFriends of the Earth and UpRising.
The partnership had more than 40 years of experience in managing social and environmental grant programmes. It had a proven track record of empowering young people.

Steering Group
The Steering Group was responsible for supporting The Wildlife Trusts to deliver the programme objectives, maximising the programme’s impact and ensuring a legacy.
The Steering Group oversaw the development and management of Our Bright Future. This included:
  • promoting wider engagement and participation in decision making at all levels by young people
  • ensuring effective sharing of best practice
  • risk management
  • overseeing strategic performance of the programme
The Steering Group was made up of senior members of staff from the eight partner organisations, young people and representatives from the National Lottery Community Fund.
Evaluation Panel
The Evaluation Panel managed the research and evaluation of the Our Bright Future programme.
The Evaluation Panel’s remit was to:
  • work with the team to ensure evaluation objectives were met
  • comment and deliberate on reports from the evaluators
  • provide comment and advice on evaluation reports before they were published
The Evaluation Panel was made up of young people, staff with evaluation expertise from partner and project organisations and representatives from The National Lottery Community Fund.
