Sian at The Green Academies Project
20 year old Sian is a computing student from Wrexham. She volunteers at the Green Academies Project (GAP) at National Trust Erddig. Before joining GAP she didn’t think of herself as an outdoor person. She didn’t like insects or getting dirty! But she joined GAP because she wanted to meet new people and gain confidence. To her surprise what she enjoys most is getting out from behind her laptop and getting stuck into outdoor jobs. She has been learning how to grow vegetables and is looking forward to tasting squash soup soon!
‘I’m still not a fan of insects, but I understand the importance of projects like GAP. We all have a part to play in caring for the environment and GAP supports us to gain skills and knowledge to do that’.
