The Green Leaders project was run by Groundwork UK, with delivery taking place from January 2016 to June 2019. Green Leaders supported 16-20 year olds develop their ideas for community space projects that challenged local attitudes towards the environment.
Each young person took part for an eight-month period and were provided with tailored 1:1 mentoring, opportunities to develop their leadership skills and gain vital experience; empowering them to lead sustainable social action in their own communities. Young people were supported by Groundwork staff as well as the Youth Advisory Board.
