Friends of the Earth’s My World My Home project ran from January 2016 to March 2021. More than 280 young people were supported to take on an environmental leadership role and drive improvements on climate change and/or biodiversity loss in their communities.
80 young people achieved the Level 3 Award in Community Campaigning (worth 8 UCAS points) and a further 72 students received an ‘Endorsed Certificate’
My World My Home participants have successfully influenced environmental changes in their colleges, cities, regions and nations. Some examples include:
  • switching away from single use plastic on campus
  • action on air pollution
  • a climate emergency declared
  • a national petition for Welsh Government to divert food waste to charities
  • action on fast fashion
  • creating green spaces
  • food growing
  • tree planting
